One Week to Go!

Only one week from now Roger, David, Amy, Kellie, and I will be flying out to Jamaica to work in and around the Montego Bay area. For those who don't know or don't remember, our goal as we work with Next Generation Mission is to equip the next generation to share the Gospel with the world. Our ministry is primarily in the form of street shows. We open with music, Gospel-centered skits, personal testimonies, and puppet shows to draw a crowd in public locations (markets, street corners, slums, churches) and finally end with a clear Gospel message in which people are told of their need for a Savior and the fact that Jesus is that Savior. We invite people to come forward to talk and pray with the group and interns, and we give Bibles to new believers and hook them up with the local church we are working with. This method of getting this life-altering message out has been very effective in the past, and continues to be so.

Last year, both David and I were able to be part of a group of twenty that went from our home church, Fellowship Baptist. This year, we go as interns, and our new responsibilities include spiritual leadership, performing administrative tasks for Dick and Roger, and being the "go-to" people for the group. The first week we are there, we will be working with another group, which we will find out later, and the second we will be with the Immanuel Baptist team we have been practicing with.

Hopefully we will have cool stories to share every day about people whose eyes were opened to the most important truth they will ever encounter. Pray that God would be working right now in the heart of each person whom we will meet!
