Montego Bay-Monday

This morning we went to a high school at 6:00 to do a show at 7:30. A few kids came early, and we got to spend a good amount of time talking with them. Mostly I talked to Omar, who is in seventh grade and is fourteen. He likes Social Studies. He's been a Christian since he was nine, and although he was feeling shy at first, he came over to where the other team members were and sat with us. One of his friends, LeShawn, was sitting with us, and he liked science. Presently one of Omar's best friends, Christopher showed up, and we were talking for a while. I asked if he went to the same church as Omar, and he told me that he hadn't been to church for six years. We were just starting to get into a good conversation but our leaders told us that school had been pushed back an hour and therefore we wouldn't be able to do a show. So we packed up and left. We just ate breakfast, and soon we will be going to a primary and junior high school.

Later-
The show at Bethel Primary and Junior High School went very well. We actually did two shows for the two different shifts of students. I stood towards the back and danced with the girls and took lots of pictures. Then Trish took me out behind the school and showed me an awesome view that she found of the bay.

For lunch we went to a local restaurant called Jamaican Bobsled Cafe, and we all got pictures in the bobsled.

And now I have something very scary to tell you, the scariest thing that has happened to me for the whole trip. I was sitting in my room after a nap eating some crackers with peanut butter, and I glanced to my left a little bit and saw the biggest spider I have ever seen in my life. Alive, including legs, it was as big as my fist. I screamed and it scurried under the bed, and I ran to find a guy to kill it. Fortunately Roger was just coming out of his room and I took him to the scene of the crime. But he couldn't find it! We searched under the bed and I was just about to lose all hope of finding and killing it, when Leisha opened the closet and there it was. I ran outside so I wouldn't get splattered. After it was dead, it was smaller. I was trying to explain this concept to Amy, Kellie, and Roger later tonight, but they were making fun of me way to much to try to understand that when a spider dies its legs curl up like a ball of string and it takes up less space than it does when it's alive. So we have decided that it is a Jamaican Shrinking Spider and they are known for resurrecting themselves after death so they can curl up in a ball.

Our night show was very good as well, and three men came to know Christ during the show. We got their names and numbers to give to the pastor to follow up. We always hook up new believers with the church we work with or with JYFC so they are not left in the dark about their new life. You can pray for Anthony, Herman, and the other man, whose name I can't remember at the moment. You can also pray for the girl who was saved at the other night show, Brittany, and for Maudry.
